For the FIRST time ever, WHS's Computer Intigrated Manufacturing (CIM) class has started a Battle Bots IQ team similar to SkillsUSA or Super Milage. Our first competition will be on April 4, 2009. Our goal is the beat the snot out of any bot that versus us.

What Is a Battle Bot?
A Battle Bot is a remote control robot that is meant to destroy an enemy robot in a battle ring. It's like those Japanese cartoons where robots are ripping each other to shreds except a Battle Bot usually wieghs from 15 lbs in a high school compotition and 30lbs in a professional compotition. We are meant to do everything as a team, by ourselves, only.

We have limitations to our Battle Bot. One of these limitations is that our Bot must be 15lbs or less. Another is that we CAN NOT have active weapons. example: bullets, flamethrower, ect. That rule really made us frown. These are only some of the rules and regulations on our Bot. You can read the whole list on the "Battle Bots IQ Rules" link on the right.

Watertown High School's Battle Bots team, "PPE", is comprised of both Engineering and Manufacturing students. These students, with the structure of SkillsUSA, manage the year's activities from fundraising, community service, leadership training, daily meetings, officers, challenges and much more. This project builds much more than just welding and machining skills in each student, (though it does a great job promoting and strengthening Engineering and Manufacturing skills!)
